Our History

Carlinville High School is located in Carlinville, Illinois.  The town is approximately 50 miles south of Springfield, Illinois and 65 miles northeast of St. Louis, Missouri.  It is the county seat of Macoupin County, and is considered an outlying part of the Metro-East region of the greater St. Louis metropolitan area. Our proximity to Springfield and St. Louis provides students with many opportunities throughout the school year.

9/14/2021 Update from Dr. Schuchman

Dear Parents, students and staff, Yesterday, Carlinville CUSD#1 was made aware of 9 individuals that tested positive for COVID-19 in our District. A large number of the positives were middle school age. All last week, we experienced a total of 9 positives and in one day this week, we had 9 positive COVID-19 cases. Please monitor your child for symptoms. If your child is experiencing any symptoms please keep them at home and contact your primary care provider or the Macoupin County Public Health Department. Symptoms include: Fever or chills, Cough, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Fatigue, Muscle or body aches, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Sore throat, Congestion or runny nose, Nausea or vomiting, Diarrhea. Again, please monitor your child's health, keep them home if symptomatic and contact your primary care provider if your child is experiencing even mild symptoms.
